Moving in Procedures
We want to take this opportunity to express our hope that you will find your new home a comfortable and pleasant place in which to live. The following is a reprint of some items included in your lease and policy brochure and should help in moving into your new apartment. If you have any questions, please call our office at 725-5757. PLEASE MOVE IN (AND OUT) ONLY THROUGH THE REAR ENTRANCE OF THE BUILDING AS IS REQUIRED BY YOUR LEASE. We try to keep our front halls looking nice and moving out the back really does help.
Please arrange moves between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM only. This will greatly reduce congestion and inconvenience to your neighbors. **Also, please notify your movers in advance of these policies.**
You must contact the gas and electric companies to get service in your name (if NOT included in your rent). If you do not do this immediately, they will be shut off.

Note that the gas company requires a gas meter reading and inspection of your gas appliances when they turn on your service. When you call them to make an appointment please make sure they notate on the work order to “call The Byron Company at 725-5757 when heading over to the apartment”. We will meet them and allow access to the meter, which is in the locked basement. Also, be sure you make the appointment on Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.
If you smell gas CALL US at 725-5757 and use the Emergency line if you get the answering machine. A stove pilot is probably out and we will light it for you and/or fix the problem.
